On Aug. 21, 2007, Beckman Coulter and ARTEL technical experts gave a webinar to discuss the standardized ARTEL MVS method of qualifying both accuracy and precision on Biomek® laboratory automation workstations. Users of current and new Biomek devices can now request the company’s Field Service Operational Qualification (OQ3**) program, including the Biomek FXP, and Biomek NXP and Biomek 3000 laboratory automation workstations (liquid handling devices designed for research laboratories in biotech, biopharma and academia) and VidieraTM NsP (Nucleic Sample Preparation device geared for hospital and reference laboratories).

This webinar has been recorded and is available online for viewing. Please click here for the webinar.

Operational qualification of liquid handlers is important for most life science laboratories, particularly those in the clinical, pharmaceutical and forensics areas.  What if you had access to technology providing standardized information characterizing the precision and accuracy of your instruments? What if you had proof that your liquid handlers were performing within specifications through third-party validation of equipment performance? To satisfy customer needs for accuracy and precision data and assurance of system performance, Beckman Coulter has upgraded its Field Service Operational Qualification Program with ARTEL’s  MVS (Multichannel Verification System). Based on ratiometric photometry, a technology measuring the absorbance of light by two proprietary dye solutions, the MVS provides verification of the accuracy and precision of dispensed volumes in one simultaneous measurement, to ensure confidence in the performance of Beckman Coulter’s automated liquid handlers.  To learn more about Beckman Coulter's implementation of the MVS unit into their OQ3 service, please click here for this paper.
