ChemLib* Microplates

ChemLib* 1536-well and 3456-well microplates provide an advantage to drug research laboratories seeking to miniaturize both compound storage and management as well as cellular and biological assays. Superior material and intelligent design offer features that improve performance over other microplates on the market. Each microplate is of single piece construction made through a patented insert-injection molding technique with cyclo-olefin co-polymer* (COC) material. The cyclo-olefin co-polymer provides several advantages over the polystyrene and polypropylene.

  • High light transmittance and low auto-fluorescence for superior optic quantization
  • Relatively chemically inert with broad chemical resistance, including 100% DMSO compatibility
  • Thermal stability from -80° C to +120° C
  • Rigidity for plate flatness (<300 µm) and mechanical stability

These unique features considered alongside proven cell viability, low protein binding, evaporation barrier wells, automation compatibility, and high-quality manufacturing makes the ChemLib plate the new standard for ultra-high-throughput drug research. The 1536-well and 3456-well microplates have working well volumes of 8.75 µL and 2.4 µL, respectively. Each standard 1536-well and 3456-well microplate comes with a lid and a pre-applied Code 128 bar code label that can be used for data collection and tracking.

Beckman Coulter currently provides 22 types of cyclo-olefin polymer microplates for a variety of applications, each available by cases of 40. Surface-treated plates enhance the adhesion of cells and the binding of proteins to the plastic surface.
