Beckman Coulter is a proud sponsor of
the Inner World Discovery Program designed by St. Joseph's Medical Center emergency room doctor Phillip
Silverstein M.D., the "Inner World Discovery" program is a multimedia journey through the human body.
With Dr. Silverstein as their guide, students
participating in this session will experience the wonder, intricacies and elegance of the human body’s immune
system. This interactive videoconference presentation with Dr. Silverstein will make the complexities of
understanding the immune system accessible to students, and will make real the devastating effects of HIV.
The program, a curricular supplement, is scaled for high school health and science classes.

Beckman Coulter is a strong supporter of the The Children’s Educational Outreach Program -- "Exploratorium". Through this partnership, Exploratorium conducted 18 Family Science Nights, hosted 45 students for five weeks building portable laser light shows and turbulent orbs, completed 7 professional development workshops for afterschool organizations and held over 16 one day community workshops with schools, community groups and hospitals.
Exploratorium brings science to the forefront for underserved students in the in-school and after-school environment. By making science accessible and engaging, Exploratorium promotes an interest in science while supporting and enhancing educational programs.

For the past 4 years, Beckman Coulter has been a proud supporter of the Miami Museum of Science. The Museum’s Education Department is nationally recognized for its award-winning programs that have helped redefine the role that science museums and science centers can play in strengthening overall public science literacy, as well as formal science education. The Museum’s Education team develops, tests, and implements strategies and materials to support science learning opportunities for a variety of audiences.
